GEORGE II MAHOGANY ARM CHAIR |

Beautifully curved crest rail, ending in leaf capped
scrolled terminals, above a pierced splat carved
with scrolls, over 'S' scrolled arms set on reverse
scrolled supports. Carved with leaf-tips. The
over-upholstered seat is raised on frontal cabriole
legs ending in pad feet with foliate carving at the
knees. Circa 1740. |

The tall back
with arched crest, flows into arched wings that end
in 'C' scrolled arms flowing out into the sides. The
whole rests on cabriole front legs, ending in pad
feet. The rear legs are swept back and all legs are
swept back and all legs united by turned and blocked
stretchers. Covered in cut silk French velvet and
'close-nailed'. A fine example of high quality and
excellent condition. England C-1700-10.
